A Day of Discovery at Anglesey Abbey
Our recent adventure at Anglesey Abbey was nothing short of enchanting! Nestled in the heart of Cambridgeshire, this stunning estate offers a delightful blend of history, breathtaking gardens, and a sprinkle of whimsy that kept us engaged all day long.
As we strolled through the grand entrance, the imposing architecture of the abbey greeted us with open arms. We couldn’t help but feel as if we had stepped into a scene from a fairy tale. The intricate details of the building and its rich history added an air of mystery that kept our imaginations running wild.
After exploring the impressive interiors filled with art and antiquities, we made our way to the gardens. And oh, what a sight they were! With vibrant flowers in full bloom and perfectly manicured hedges, every corner was Instagram-worthy. We tried to take a few candid shots, but let’s just say our photo skills could use a bit of work!
Among the many fascinating artifacts in the abbey is a window in the library. Lord Fairhaven bought a special diamond pen for guests including members of the Royal Family to engrave their names onto the glass.

In the drawing room there is also a Pagoda Clock. When the clock strikes 12 noon every day the clock puts on a show, it is 10 minutes early though, so if you want to see it you should be in there 10-15 minutes earlier. We didn’t see the show.

As the day came to a close, we reluctantly said goodbye to Angelsey Abbey, our hearts full of memories and our minds buzzing with new facts. It was a day well spent, and we can’t wait for our next adventure!
If you ever find yourself in the area, don’t miss the chance to visit Angelsey Abbey. Whether you’re a history buff, a nature lover, or just looking for a lovely spot to relax, this place has something for everyone!
