We stayed really local today and went to Moseley Bog, a nature reserve that was the childhood playground of JRR Tolkein. It’s on our doorstep as in 5-10 minutes drive, only a small car park so not sure what to expect.
There are sleeper paths to follow, around the reserves plenty of wildlife to look at and spot, different trees, insects, all sorts.
There is a map at the start that we took a photo of, but never used it, just followed our noses, and the trails.
We spent a couple of hours wondering round, and have nowhere near covered all of it, not bad for a nature reserve on your doorstep.
We will definitely be going back to explore more, may even make a scavenger hunt for the kids to do.
