We couldn’t help but imagine the grand parties and elaborate costumes that once filled these halls.

“Imagine dancing a minuet right here!” one of us exclaimed, prompting a round of jovial attempts at historical dance moves, with far more giggles than grace.

For the Love of Landscapes

Next, we sauntered through the landscape garden, a living painting dreamt to life by the famed Capability Brown. The vistas at every turn were worthy of a postcard.

The serpentine lake mirrored the sky, and the birds seemed to perform an aerial ballet just for us. The culmination was finding the hidden follies scattered like jewels across the estate. Each one told a unique story—a playful whisper from history.

Somehow, our ‘misstep’ led us to the quaint church of St Mary Magdalene. Its intriguing gothic windows and captivating interior designed by Robert Adam. We paused, took a breath, and enjoyed the unexpected tranquility.

It’s amazing how one historical spot can turn a group of adults into wide-eyed explorers, eager for the next surprise around the corner. This fun-filled day at Croome has been etched in our memories, sprinkled with the chatter of our laughter and the warmth of shared experiences.
