We learned about the house’s transformation from a wealthy family home to a bustling wartime bank. We marveled at the tapestry of lives—from the Bearsteds’ lavish lifestyle to the diligent bank workers protecting England’s wealth. Quite the pivot from tea dances to typing pools!
Gazing at the Galleries
Art aficionados and novices alike, our visit to the picture galleries was an aesthetic adventure! The collection had us gazing in awe—from Bosch to Brueghel, the walls were a riot of color and creativity. Our reflections on the masterpieces must have been audible, as we saw a few fellow visitors nodding in agreement!
